The Homer Public Library will run a six-week summer reading program starting with a magic show on June 11. | homer.lib.oh.us

The Homer Public Library's six-week summer reading program kicks off with a captivating magic show by Ron Spangler.

The Children’s Summer Reading Program, themed "Color Our World," will feature an exciting lineup of special guests and engaging events designed to spark curiosity and imagination. Spangler will take the stage at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11. 

Spangler "believes magic reveals the mystery of life, is fun, educates, intrigues and inspires," according to his website. "Magic can teach positive life values and leave each person with a story they can’t wait to share with others."

The Homer Library offers a school break full of fun, learning, and creativity. Throughout the summer, children can dive into hands-on activities, nature exploration, music, and artistic fun with a series of engaging programs:

  • June 18, 10 a.m. – Gardening with Sheila Geiling
  • June 25, 10 a.m. – Puppet Show at The Sacred Flower Sanctuary (meet at the library)
  • July 2, 10 a.m. – Tie-Dye Party
  • July 9, 10 a.m. – Columbus Symphony Orchestra Instrument Petting Zoo
  • July 16, 10 a.m. – Messtival & Picnic Lunch
