According to the release, Dr. Megan Church-Nally from the University of Cincinnati received the 2025 David Hoch Memorial Award for her leadership in expanding service-learning opportunities and fostering community partnerships. The 2025 Charles J. Ping Student Service Award honored 13 undergraduate students from across Ohio for their outstanding leadership in service-learning and civic engagement. The recipients include Riley Anderson, Marceana Black, Marissa H. Dhungat and Mitchell were recognized as Legacy Award recipients, which includes a $250 donation to a nonprofit of their choice. This further highlights their dedication to service beyond their academic careers. According to the press release, the Ping Award honors those following in the footsteps of former Ohio University President Charles J. Ping, who championed campus-community partnerships and the role of higher education in fostering civic responsibility.
"The 2025 Hoch and Ping Award winners exemplify the power of service-learning and civic engagement in higher education," said Stephanie Dodd, executive director of Community Campus Coalition. "These individuals are making a lasting impact on their campuses and communities, and we are proud to recognize their dedication to advancing community engagement across Ohio."
