Each living organism thrives in a specific habitat, but some of these habitats face threats from non-native invasive plant species. A volunteer event aims to combat this issue at the Brown Family Environmental Center by removing such invasive plants to support local biodiversity and ecosystem health.
The event is set for Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM EDT at the Brown Family Environmental Center. "Join us for a hands-on volunteer event," encourages the organizers, to help improve habitats at risk. Participants do not need prior experience, and everyone is welcome. Recommended attire includes close-toed shoes, long sleeves, and long pants. Drinking water is also advised, while gloves and tools will be provided.
The participation is free of charge, and interested individuals can reach out to Bonnie at the contact number 740.427.5053 or send an email for more information. Volunteers are asked to gather at the Picnic Pavilion on the day of the event.
