Mount Vernon High School senior Micah Evans has been recognized with the Exchange Club ACE (Accepting the Challenge of Excellence) Award. The award acknowledges students who have triumphed over personal challenges to achieve academic and personal milestones.
"Micah is a huge success story and I am so proud of him. Watching him win that award gave me pure joy! In my 10 years of teaching, watching him win that award was the best day by far," expressed Nate Hunt, MVHS Intervention Specialist.
Micah is one of six students in Knox County who were chosen by their schools for this recognition. The Exchange Club of Mount Vernon presented the award to the honorees. The other recognized students included Keaira Sanchez from Danville High School, Cassandra Hernandez from Knox County Career Center, Bryer Korosec from East Knox High School, Isaac Craig from Fredericktown High School, and Victoria Browning from Centerburg High School.
