St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will host a preaching series during Holy Week, beginning with Palm Sunday on April 13th. The week focuses on the days leading up to Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Starting Monday, April 14th, Pastor Amy Barr, who serves Methodist congregations in Knox and Morrow counties, will deliver a homily as part of a Communion service at 6:30 p.m. On Tuesday, Kenyon student Elizabeth Redmond, a peer minister at Harcourt Parish in Gambier, will share reflections for her Senior Sermon. Wednesday's service will feature Rev. Richard Burnett, General Secretary of the Colleges and Universities of the Anglican Communion network. Both Tuesday and Wednesday services are scheduled for 6:30 p.m., including Communion.

Rev. Burnett will deliver his sermon from Western Massachusetts. The week continues with Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services led by St. Paul’s rector, Fr. Charles Wilson, also at 6:30 p.m.

"This is a new tradition for St. Paul’s," Fr. Charles said. "Holding services each night and inviting different voices during this time of prayer and focus may open up the scope of this intense time for our communities as Lent ends and Easter begins again."

All are welcome to attend any or all services at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church located at 101 East High Street in downtown Mount Vernon.
