The City of Mount Vernon, Ohio, is bringing back the much-loved Community Easter Egg Hunt.

Scheduled for Saturday, April 12, this family-friendly event will take place at Memorial Park, starting at 10 a.m. Participants can enjoy a staggered start based on age groups, ensuring fun for everyone.

This year's event comes with a special honor, as it will officially be named after Jerry & Joy Clinger, recognizing their outstanding dedication to the community and its children. Their contributions over the years have left a lasting impact, and this naming serves as a heartfelt tribute to their efforts.

Businesses and organizations eager to contribute to this cherished tradition can do so by sponsoring or volunteering. For more information, interested parties can contact the City’s Recreation Department at recreation@mountvernonohio.org.

Mount Vernon Parks & Recreation has a few request to keep the event organized while keep everyone's having fun.

"We are asking a few strategies that will help keep the area safe and maximize FUN: Please do not park on the roadway throughout the park. Utilize the parking lots in the park, and also across Mt. Vernon Ave. at the school ball diamonds. Children must participate in their age group; older siblings may not hunt with a younger sibling. Please return plastic eggs to the picnic pavilion, this will help us use them in future years!" Mount Vernon Parks & Recreation reminded on Facebook.
