Berea College has announced that India Allar, a student from Mount Vernon, Ohio, has earned a place on the Fall 2024 Dean's List. The announcement was made in a press release dated March 5, 2025, and disseminated by Merit Pages.
According to Merit Pages, Allar has been recognized multiple times on the Berea College Dean’s List. To qualify for this distinction, students must maintain a GPA of at least 3.4 while passing a required number of credits. Allar was named to the list for the Fall 2022, Spring 2024, and Fall 2024 terms. Berea College is noted for its tuition-free model and focus on academic excellence.
Dr. Matthew Saderholm serves as the dean of faculty and is also a professor of chemistry at Berea College. He assumed the role of dean on July 1, 2019, overseeing teaching faculty, curriculum development, and faculty recruitment and performance. Dr. Saderholm completed his undergraduate studies in chemistry at Berea College in 1992 before undertaking a Fulbright Fellowship at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich. He later earned his Ph.D. in biological chemistry from the University of North Carolina and completed postdoctoral work at Duke University. His research focuses on experimental biochemistry and improving STEM teaching methods.
