Lifepoint Church has expressed its gratitude for a $2,500 donation from Food for the Hungry to the Backpacks of Hope program. This announcement was made in a press release on February 26, 2025.

According to Lifepoint Church, Food for the Hungry's contribution will support the Backpacks of Hope program, which provides essential weekend meals to elementary school children experiencing food insecurity. The initiative ensures that children who rely on school meals during the week continue to receive nutritious food over the weekend.

The LifePoint Church's Backpacks of Hope program serves hundreds of children in the Mount Vernon City School District by providing healthy weekend meals. In the 2023-24 school year, Lifepoint supplied four weekend meals and snacks to 100 elementary students. The program aims to address hunger in Knox County, with Food for the Hungry expressing pride in supporting this local ministry's mission to eliminate food insecurity, as said in a Facebook post by Food for the Hungry.

"We are incredibly grateful for Food for the Hungry’s support," said Executive Pastor Bryan Wolf of Lifepoint Church. "This donation directly impacts the lives of children in our community, giving them not only food but also hope for a brighter future."
