The Fredericktown High School Alumni Association has announced that the "Class of 1974" has funded the 37th fully endowed "Freddies Helping Freddies" scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded annually starting in 2025, as said in a press release dated February 21, 2025.

According to the announcement, the Class of 1974's 50th Reunion led to the establishment of this charitable gift. The class formed a Reunion Planning Committee that met regularly to share memories and plan for the event. They learned they still hold the record as the largest graduating class from Fredericktown High School, with 124 members. Their educational journey included attending four different school locations, beginning with kindergarten in the basement of the Baptist Church and concluding high school at the current Administration Building on Sparta Road.

The press release also highlighted that the class reflected on its strong sports teams, with both senior football and baseball teams being inducted into the Freddie Sports Hall of Fame. The band earned accolades by winning multiple competitions. Popular hangouts during their time included Peppy’s Pizza, Fink’s Drug Store, and Beck’s Point Drive-In. Other highlights were dances, movies, and trips to Cedar Point and the Mohican Outdoor School.

The class noted significant technological changes since their school days, recalling a time before the internet, personal computers, or cell phones. To celebrate their experience, they unanimously decided to fund a "Freddies Helping Freddies" scholarship to support future generations of students.

The Fredericktown High School Alumni Association is described as a charitable and educational organization dedicated to encouraging donations that fund scholarships for alumni and provide support to the school. Membership is open to all individuals who have attended Fredericktown High School without any fees or dues required. The association holds annual meetings on the last Saturday of June where members elect officers for one-year terms through a majority vote.
