Mount Vernon High School senior Ainsley Bonaudi is making a notable impact in Ohio through her Global Scholars project, "The Swap Map." This initiative highlights various swap locations throughout the state, allowing families to exchange items and reduce landfill waste.
Ainsley's project promotes sustainability and community support by ensuring clothing is reused rather than discarded. Her efforts have resulted in over 3,000 items being saved from landfills through four hosted clothing swaps. The Swap Map aims to connect organizations across Ohio interested in exchanging clothing, thus reducing textile waste and providing resources for families in need.
"Swapping is a great sustainable and affordable way to connect with all members of your community," said Ainsley. "I have learned much through the Global Scholars program. High School freshmen should definitely contact Mr. Tocheff, MVHS Spanish teacher for information about this wonderful program."
