The Citadel recognizes Kelly Wendt of Mount Vernon as a distinguished academic achiever for the fall 2024 semester, awarding him gold stars for his outstanding performance.

Cadets and students who have achieved a grade point average of 3.7 or higher are awarded with gold stars and are also placed on The Citadel’s dean’s list.

The distinguished cadets may proudly wear gold stars on their uniforms throughout the semester following their academic achievement. Non-cadet students meeting the criteria receive a gold star recognition certificate, while veteran and active-duty students are honored with challenge coins.

There were over 670 cadets and students who were honored by The Citadel for their exceptional academic performance.
