Nearly half of all U.S. adults have some form of cardiovascular disease, according to a new report that reflects recently updated guidelines for treating high blood pressure. High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is a significant risk factor that can lead to heart attack, heart failure, and stroke.

Many individuals remain unaware of their elevated blood pressure levels. This condition is a modifiable risk factor for various serious health issues, including heart attacks, heart failure, stroke, kidney failure, and premature cardiovascular death.

To address this concern, individuals are encouraged to sign up for the 20-Minute Heart Check by calling 740.393.9690 or filling out an online form. The checks will be available on Saturday, February 1 and Saturday, February 22. These screenings include a lipid panel, glucose check, blood pressure measurement, and body mass index assessment.

Achieving and maintaining healthy blood pressure levels can significantly reduce the risk of cardiovascular events across different demographics—men and women alike; young and old; people of all races and ethnicities.
