The Homer Public Library in Utica is kicking off the new year with a diverse lineup of activities for Knox County residents throughout January 2025. Programs include everything from crafting and reading to music and movie events, ensuring opportunities for all ages to participate and connect with the community.
The month begins with a Recipe Exchange on Friday, January 3, at 11 a.m., where attendees can share favorite recipes and gather new ideas for the kitchen. Those interested in hands-on hobbies can join Crochet and Handcrafts on Tuesday, January 7, at 10 a.m., a great opportunity for enthusiasts to work on their projects and learn from one another.
For younger participants, Story Time will take place every Wednesday throughout January — on the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th — at 10 a.m., offering fun, engaging sessions to foster a love for reading among children.
Music lovers are invited to the Ukulele Association of Homer, which meets on Thursday, January 9, and again on January 23 at 5 p.m., creating a space for ukulele players to practice and enjoy playing together.
Crafting activities feature prominently in the schedule. Crafting with Ann is scheduled for Tuesday, January 14, at 2 p.m., providing an opportunity for adults to work on creative projects. Later that same day at 5:30 p.m., teens are invited to Teen Crafting to explore their creative side.
Teens can also enjoy a Teen Movie & Pizza Night on Thursday, January 16, at 5 p.m., offering entertainment and food in a relaxed setting. Meanwhile, adults can attend Brunch and a Movie on Friday, January 17, at 10 a.m.
Community-building events include the Community of Women, meeting on Tuesday, January 21, at 2 p.m., followed by Teen Painting that evening at 5:30 p.m. The library is also hosting Licking County Aging and Y on the Fly on Friday, January 24, at 12 p.m., providing valuable resources and activities for older adults.
The month concludes with the Book Club on Friday, January 31, at 11 a.m., offering participants the chance to discuss literature and share insights.
