Knox County Board of Commissioners holds regular session

The Knox County Board of Commissioners will hold its regular session on Tuesday, Dec. 17 in the Commissioners Conference Room on 117 East High Street, Suite 161, in Mount Vernon.

The morning session begins at 10 a.m. with a call to order and departmental updates from Knox County Water and Wastewater officials.

The Knox County Sheriff will speak at 10:30 a.m., followed by the recognition of David Shaffer, Knox County sheriff, for years of service and retirement at 10:50 a.m.

At 11 a.m., the Knox County Human Resources department will present its resolutions - such as: approving the General Fund Budget for 2025; approving the current Agricultural Use Valuation Renewal Application for county owned land; approving the Bid Award for the Knox County Department of Job and Family Services; approving the Bid Award for the Knox County Engineer - Pavement Markings to Griffin Pavement Striping, LLC; approving contractor's application for payment No. 5 - final from Rietschlin Construction, Inc., for Beckley Road Bridge replacement in the amount of $189,546.96; requesting the Knox County engineer to complete a speed study for Schenck Creek Road; approving Knox County engineer's Title Sheet for the bridge replacement on Pleasant Valley Road in Clinton Township; authorizing Jeff Pickrell, director of the Knox County Water and Wastewater, as a signing agent for the purchase of a 2023 Dodge Ram 3500; honoring Commissioner Thom Collier for 12 years of service to Knox County; and honoring the retirement of Teresa Bemiller, commissioner of Knox County.

The acceptance of previous minutes will follow as will the approval of transfer of funds, supplemental appropriations, and bills.

If it is requested, the commissioners will hold a departmental comment period and public comment. 

There will be no afternoon session.

On Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 8 a.m., the Work Development Committee will hold its meeting. At 1 p.m., the Board of Revision hearings will commence.

The CCAO General Government Committee meeting will be held on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 1 p.m.
