After a hard fought battle, the Centerburg Trojans (2-2) lost to the undefeated Northmor Knights (4-0) this past Friday, 34-26.
Six minutes into the first quarter, running back Cowin Becker took off for a 50-yard run to score first for the Knights.
Centerburg proceeded to score the next touchdown, with a 31-yard pass to wide receiver Isiah Sule.
Knights Cowin Beckler scored twice more in the first quarter for the Knights as they extended their lead to 21-6 going into the second quarter.
Midway into the second quarter, on a third and 19 play, the Knights threw a pass straight into the hands of Centerburg safety Tommy Hause, whom took the interception and ran it all the way back 43 yards for a Trojan touchdown, making the score 21-12.
Centerburgs' next score came on a AJ Bower six-yard pass to Jonah Gribben late in the second quarter.
After the half, the Trojans kept grinding as running back Miles Marshall caught a 47-yard long ball to give Centerburg the lead for the first time in the game as the score read 26-21.
Northmor owned the rest of the game, scoring 13 unanswered points, allowing them to come away with the victory.
Quarterback AJ Bowers showed great effort in the loss, completing 14-24 passes for 216 yards with three touchdowns and only one interception.
Trojans running back Miles Marshall finished the game with 109 yards receiving with a touchdown, while running for an additional 42 yards on the ground on 10 carries.
Centerburg traveled to Loudonville this Friday to face the Cardinals, whom had not won a game yet this season at the time of this report.
