Kenyon College men's track and field named All-Academic

For the fourth consecutive year, the Kenyon College men’s track and field team was named All-Academic Team by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

According to a release by Kenyon College, the Owls have been honored with this accolade 15 of the past 17 years. The award requires the team to have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.1, and the Owl’s posted a GPA of 3.38.

Thrower Riley Orth was also named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic team for the third straight year. He recently graduated with a degree in neuroscience and his speciality was the shot put, as he set the Owl record with a toss of 52 feet, nine inches. This was third in the NCAA Great Lakes Region and 29th in NCAA Division III.

Riley needed to maintain a minimum GPA and also compete in the NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship. A student athlete could also take this honor if he or she was to in the top national 50 in an individual event, or ranked in the top-35 in relays.
