The Centerburg baseball team has the mantra: "pressure is a privilege." | Coach Josh Moss

The Centerburg baseball team was well represented with the Knox Morrow Athletic Conference end of season awards, with six All-Conference players, two All- Central District selections and the KMAC Coach of the Year in Josh Moss.

First team KMAC:

Grayson Reynolds (senior shortstop) had a .581 batting average and an .810 slugging percentage, which led the conference. He also hit two homers, seven doubles and two triples. His 43 hits and 32 RBIs were also tops in the conference. Reynolds also showed off some speed with 15 steals.

"I'm certainly biased but I think Grayson was the best SS and hitter in the KMAC this year," said Moss. "He ended up leading the league in several offensive categories and if you watched us play this year it was obvious who was in charge of our defense. He would call all of our plays, shifts, coverages on his own. He was always talking and making sure everyone knew what they were doing, in a way he was like having a coach on the field. He graduates Centerburg as the single season hits and average record holder."

Daniel Lemaster (junior RHP/OF) batted .429 and had a .557 slugging percentage. He belted seven doubles and a triple. His 21 steals were tied for the most in the conference. On the mound, Lemaster had a 2.07 ERA over 47.1 innings, going 5-4 on the year. He was third win the conference with 64 strikeouts.

"As the No. 1 on our staff, Daniel went up against our toughest competition and had solid numbers on the mound despite a 5-4 overall record," Moss said. "He made some significant strides this past off season and were excited for his senior season in 2025. In the field he was our everyday CF and sat in the two hole in the lineup. Very proud of the season he put together and have high expectations for him next year."

Ricky Faught (freshman RHP/3B) batted .460 with a .660 slugging percentage. He had a conference high eight doubles and a triple. He also posted a 2.89 ERA with 28 strikeouts in 29 innings.

"Ricky Faught started everyday as a freshmen for us at third base," Moss said. "He started the year off in the six hole and eventually moved into the lead off spot. As his OBP shows hes a tough out in the box and ended up having 15 walks and 14 HBP on the season. On the mound Ricky worked both in a starter role and in relief, he ended up third on the team in innings pitched, and we look for him to step into a larger role on the mound next year if he can continue to develop."

Second team KMAC:

Jesse Rings (senior second base) had 25 hits and was second in triples with two. His 20 RBIs were sixth in the conference.

"Our team leader," Moss said. "If we had a team captain it would be Jesse Rings. The kid is just a dirtbag and plays the game the right way. Jesse was our everyday 2nd basemen and hit leadoff, 2nd, 4th this year. After missing all of last year (could only play defense) recovering from shoulder surgery, he came back and had an outstanding senior season.

Ryder Scott (senior pitcher) had a 1.42 ERA over 34.1 innings, while going a perfect 6-0 during the season. He was also Academic All-KMAC.

"Ryder had a very good 2023 season number-wise," Moss said. "We didn't do a very good job behind him and he his record took a hit because of that. Fast forward to 2024 and he graduates with a 6-0 record and one of the best ERA's in the KMAC. Ryder is a great kid and worked hard this summer and fall on his mechanics and in the weight room. He settled into our #2 role on the mound and was dominant in several outings.

Honorable Mention:

Mason Vallance (junior catcher) had 19 RBIs to put him in the top 10 in KMAC. He batted .302 and had 20 hits, with four doubles, on the season.

"Mason started the year off in left field and after roughly 5-6 games took over the catching duties full time. While his offensive numbers standout, what the box scores dont show you is how valuable he was to our team behind the plate. Mason did an excellent job of handling our pitching staff and controlling the oppositions running game. Another player we look forward to having back next season after another off season of work and development.

First Team Central District and First Team All-Ohio:
