Knox County Water and Wastewater Director, Jeff Pickrell, recently addressed the Knox County Board of Commissioners regarding the status of the Pleasant View Acres and Valleywood projects. His report was presented during the board meeting held on May 21.

According to minutes from the Knox County Board of Commissioners' May 21 meeting, Pickrell provided updates on his department's two main projects and responded to queries raised by the commissioners.

"Filters were delivered and delivery of the control panel for the Pleasant View Acres project was expected," Pickrell informed the commissioners. He noted that a significant part of this project involved running conduit, which has now been completed. The director also mentioned that his department needed to discuss affluent lines with the contractor. While he confirmed that the bar screen startup was completed and functional, it still required manual operation as no timeline or schedule had been provided by the contractor.

Pickrell further indicated that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is aware of how the Pleasant View Acres project is progressing. "Final payment for the project is being withheld until all work is completed," he added.

Regarding the Valleywood project, Pickrell revealed that there have been repeated delays in delivering its control panel. According to him, "The final payment will be withheld until all equipment has been received and is in working order."
