Rick Bergman has received a conditional use permit and variances from the Mount Vernon Board of Zoning Appeals to construct an additional mini storage building on his North Sandusky Street property. However, he will still need to coordinate with Clinton Township as the property straddles city and township boundaries.

Bergman plans to add another mini-storage building to the existing three that he owns, which are spread across multiple parcels at 721-723 N Sandusky Street, according to minutes from the Mount Vernon Board of Zoning Appeals meeting on April 17. The board's approval was necessary for a conditional use permit for mini storage buildings.

According to the same meeting minutes, Bergman had not yet reached out to Clinton Township regarding his plans for the Store More Ohio business. He applied for a Zoning Permit to add a 40’ x 110’ mini-storage building that would extend across parcel lines between city and township boundaries and was informed about the requirement for conditional use approval.

Board member Cynthia Cunningham proposed accepting Bergman's request, with William Smith seconding it, as per the minutes from the Mount Vernon Board of Zoning Appeals meeting on April 17. Smith, Cunningham, Michael Percy, and Kate Aryanata voted in favor of approval.

The Mount Vernon Board of Zoning Appeals convenes on the first and third Wednesdays of every month. It is composed of seven appointed members: Chairman Michael Percy, Vice Chairman Tonya Boucher, and members Susie Simpson, William Smith, Cynthia Cunningham, Otho Eyster, and Kate Aryanata.
