MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — WNZR 90.9 FM, a broadcast ministry of Mount Vernon Nazarene University, is preparing for Lifeline 2024. This annual fundraising effort, March 25–28, is an opportunity for listeners to pledge their support to WNZR.
This year’s goal is $70,000, and the theme is I Believe It, based on the song by Jon Reddick. The theme verse for Lifeline 2024 is John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (NIV). This verse affirms that we believe in the overwhelming love of God, demonstrated through the life of Jesus, and victory over death.
“We are excited to host Lifeline 2024 the week of Easter with the theme of I Believe It,” said Marcy Rinehart, WNZR Station Manager and co-host of The Morning Thing. “Christ’s sacrifice on the cross is not just a story. It is a living, breathing, walking testimony. We have the honor to partner with our gracious donors to share this message of amazing love through our radio ministry!”
“We are so thankful for those that have supported WNZR throughout the years,” said Joe Rinehart, MVNU’s Director of Broadcasting and co-host of WNZR’s Afternoon Drive. “That support helps us stay focused on what we are all about — broadcasting an uplifting message that encourages listeners and families every day to believe! Your partnership is also an investment in our students to help them develop their communication skills and serve our community.”
“I Believe It is the epitome of our faith,” said Mike Basko, a senior Communication and Media major from Forest, Va. “None of us were alive while Jesus was on earth, so our entire lives are based on faith that Jesus lived, died, and rose again. As a result, declaring Jesus’ life as truth demonstrates that we trust wholeheartedly in Jesus and sums up our faith and life outlook in those three words: I Believe It.”
“I Believe It is a conscious choice we make every day, reminding us of God’s goodness and grace,” said Mia Reid, a junior Communication and Media major from Bourbonnais, Illinois. “His story is more than just a story. His sacrifice gives us life and in return, we can believe in the life of Jesus and share His story with the world.”
