Leuella 'Jean' Baughn | Provided

Leuella “Jean” Baughn, 82, formerly of Columbus, Ohio, passed peacefully in her sleep. She was the youngest of five children born to Leo and Genevieve Anderson in Brazil, Indiana.

Jean graduated from Fillmore High School and was an avid volunteer throughout her life. Jean met her future husband, Terry Robert Baughn, at Purdue University and they were married more than 50 years.

The couple lived in many places throughout Terry’s career with John Deere, including several cities in Kansas, many years in Columbus, Ohio and retiring to Apple Valley near Mount Vernon, Ohio. They raised four children, Jeff, Beth, Patsy and Susan Baughn. They enjoyed being outdoors and camping with family as well as square dancing together and refinishing furniture. Jean enjoyed helping people throughout her life with church benevolent committees, volunteering at hospitals and senior centers, Welcome Wagon, banquet serving, and driving seniors to community appointments.

Her passions were spending time with family and her many friends, gardening, participating in singing groups, playing piano, and numerous snowbird winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Following Terry’s death in 2011, Jean moved to Cincinnati, Ohio to be closer to family. Jean went to her heavenly home on March 8, 2024.

She is survived by her son, Jeff (Leah) Baughn of Nashville, Tennessee; Beth Baughn of Cincinnati, Ohio; Patsy Baughn of Cincinnati, Ohio; Susan Baughn of Makaha, Hawaii and her three grandchildren Justin Baughn, Christian (Erika) Baughn and Grace Leah (Patrick) Koehler of Atlanta, Georgia. Jean was always upbeat, infinitely positive, and well-loved.

Services will be held at noon on March 16, 2024 at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040 followed by a luncheon in the family center. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to prokids.org or shelterhousecincy.org.
