Betty Lou McCullough, 93 of Newark passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Arlington Care Center. She was born in December, 1930 in Dresden, Ohio to the late David and Frances (Snyder) Croy.

Betty worked at Kenyon College in Gambier, National City Bank in Utica and the Treasurer’s Office in Mt. Vernon. She enjoyed reading, going out to eat, traveling and going to casinos. She loved being around people. She also enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by a son, T. David (Mari) McCullough; and a daughter, Cathy (Patrick) Murphy; grandchildren, Shelly (Denny) Robinson, Kimberly (Larry Anderson) McCullough, Maggi McCullough, Tommy Myers, Amber Murphy, Ryan (Mariah) Murphy and Kelsey Murphy; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Jeanette (Gary) Border, Carol Yochum and Marilyn Brown; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Carl McCullough; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Ann Kinneer, Patsy and Milton Fry, Sandy and David Adkins, Bob Yochum, Pearl and Burton McCullough, Isabel and Harold Hogle; and grandson, Sean McCullough.

Family and friends had the opportunity to visit on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 12-2 p.m. prior to the memorial service at 2 p.m. at the Utica Church of Christ, 115 N. Central Ave., Utica.

The family would like to thank the staff at Arlington Care Center and Hospice of Central Ohio for the wonderful care they provided.
