The Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) is set to hold a local public hearing on Frasier Solar's proposal to construct a 120 megawatt (MW) solar-powered electric generation facility in Clinton and Miller townships, and the city of Mount Vernon in Knox County. The testimony given at this hearing will form part of the case record.
According to an OPSB press release, the hearing is scheduled for 5 p.m. on April 4 at the Woodward Opera House, located at 107 South Main St., Mount Vernon.
The same press release states that the local public hearing will offer individuals an opportunity to provide sworn testimony about the proposed facility. However, witness testimony will be limited to five minutes each. The transcript from this hearing will be incorporated into the case record considered by the OPSB.
The OPSB press release also clarifies that witnesses will testify in the order they register upon arrival. Any witness wishing to supplement their testimony with an exhibit should provide a copy of the document for the administrative law judge during the hearing.
According to another section of the OPSB press release, Frasier Solar's project involves constructing solar panel arrays and associated facilities that would occupy approximately 840 acres within a 1,395-acre project area. In addition to solar panel arrays, the facility would include electrical collection lines, inverters, access roads, perimeter fencing, and a substation.
For more information regarding this proposed solar facility, one can visit the OPSB website at www.OPSB.ohio.gov under case number 23-0796-EL-BGN as per information from an OPSB press release.
