The Knox County Sheriff’s Office has received a 100% compliance rating on the recent state jail inspection. Representatives from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction inspect the jail annually for compliance with 176 standards. There are 123 standards that are considered important, and 53 standards that are considered essential. . 

The group of standards inspected focused on Reception & Release, Classification, Security, Housing, Sanitation and Environmental Conditions, Communication, Visitation, Medical and Mental Health Services, Food Service, Recreation and Programming, Inmate Discipline, Administrative Segregation, Grievance, Staffing, and Staff Training. The inspectors review documented information to verify standards are being maintained throughout the year.
