Mount Vernon City Council approved the acceptance of a donation of two parcels of land from the Wesley L. Kline Trust. The parcels are located on Prospect Street and are deemed unsuitable for building due to water discharge issues.
The Wesley L. Kline Trust donated the two plots situated at 0 Prospect Street, which combined, fall just short of half an acre, as per the minutes from the November 27th Mount Vernon City Council meeting.
The approval for this generous donation was given by the City Council with a 6-1 vote in favor, with only Planning and Zoning Committee Chairman Mike Hilliar voting against it, according to the council meeting minutes dated November 27th.
City Engineer Brian Ball suggested during a committee meeting on November 13th that due to water discharge issues at these two Prospect Street properties they were unfit for construction. Ball proposed that city ownership would allow control over such discharges.
