A Knox County grand jury returned an indictment for aggravated murder against Chad R. Taylor, 44, in the Oct. 26 death of Ronda L. Brenna, 43.

"Taylor was arrested soon after the incident on the morning of Oct. 26", said Mount Vernon Police Chief Robert K. Morgan.

"Taylor has been held in the Knox County Jail since his arrest", also according to Morgan. The bond was set at $500,000 cash with no 10% provision in a Mount Vernon Municipal Court hearing on Oct. 27. That bond was continued by the Knox County Common Pleas Court after the grand jury indictment.

"Detectives from the Mount Vernon Police Department are investigating the case with assistance from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Knox County Coroner's Office, and the Knox County Prosecutor's Office", stated Morgan once more.

The police received a 911 call at approximately 3:25 a.m. on Oct. 26, reporting a stabbing at a residence in the 700 block of North Mulberry, according to previous reports by Mount Vernon News. Upon their arrival, officers entered the home and found Brennan alone.
