With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kenneth Dawson Roth, Mount Vernon, OH, who passed away on August 18, 2023, a cherished soul who enriched our lives with his passion for music, craftsmanship, and unwavering sense of humor.
Born on July 16, 1951, to Mary Katherine Hotaling Roth and Charles Arthur Roth, Ken truly appreciated music. He loved to play the guitar and was a member of a local band in the 80s, The Nomads. Beyond his musical talents, Ken possessed a rare gift for carpentry. With a skilled hand and detailed eye, he helped to build several beautiful homes in Central Ohio and Tennessee.
One of Ken's most endearing qualities was his unique sense of humor. He had a remarkable ability to find joy in the simplest of moments, and his sarcasm was unmatched.
Ken is survived by his wife Sharla L. Bateman, daughters; Katie Roth-Kirkhart and Natalie M. Roth, and younger brother Richard Roth.
An informal memorial celebration was be held at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Flowers Chapel, from 1 – 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, followed by a casual gathering at HoneyBuckets Tavern.
In lieu of flowers, please make honorable donations to the Knox County Humane Society, in honor of Ken’s beloved dog, Pete.
