Ora Aline Richey, 95, of Mount Vernon was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. She was born on March 10, 1928 in Oakdale, Louisiana to the late Matthew Paul and Bena Mae (Clement) Prather.

For 36 years, Aline and her late husband, Jack were missionaries for the Foursquare Gospel Church, serving in both the Philippines and Ecuador. She was a member of the Foursquare Church in Mount Vernon, Ohio. In recent years, she attended Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene, Mount Vernon, Ohio with her children.

Aline loved talking about Jesus and what He had done. She was a wise woman of prayer and of peace. Aline was a life long learner. She was adventurous, kindhearted, loving, and so much fun! Her home was filled with joy and laughter. Aline had the unique ability to see the humor in difficult situations. She had a servants heart, and served with joy.

Aline is survived by her children Jack Lewis (Linda) Richey Jr. of Palmdale, California, Annie Lee (Robert) Morrison of Mount Vernon, Karol Glee (Steve) Smith of Mount Vernon, Deborah Fay (Jeff) Belt of Zanesville, Ohio, and Judith Hope (Randall) Owens of New Brighton, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Lewis (Angie) Richey, Lucas (Eunice) Richey, Mark (Michelle) Morrison, Krista (Phil) Hunt, Lindsey (Tareq) Ajaj, Kimberly (Bryan) Chandler, Trevor (Josh) Belt, Nathan (Hope) Owens, Jamie (Ryan) Wright; 20 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, along with sister Madeline (Edward) Coto of Barnwell, South Carolina.

In addition to her parents, Aline was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Jack Lewis Richey Sr.; a daughter, Cherry Lynn Richey; grandson, Scott Morrison; daughter-in-law, Deraine Richey; and sisters, Norma Savage, Mary Steinhouse, and Janie Tujague; and brothers, Matthew Prather Jr. and Shelton Prather.

The family was received friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service celebrating the life of Ora Aline at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene, 16001 Glen Road, Mount Vernon with Rev. Scott Sharpes officiating. Ora Aline was be laid to rest beside her husband, Jack at Mound View Cemetery.
