Donald E. “Don” Teal, age 73, of Mount Vernon passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
He was born on May 7, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio to the late George and Lucy Jane (Brooks) Teal. Donald was employed for many years at Ross Brothers Salvage, Inc where he was a Crane Operator. Don was a member of the Grace Community Church on Hopewell Rd. He collected tractors and restored a Chevy K-10 truck, which he was very proud of. He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, riding his BMW motorcycle and was a member of several country bands throughout the years. But most of all, Don loved the time he spent with his family and close friends.
He is survived by his wife, of nearly 49 years, Jane (Frost) Teal; his son Jeremy (Carrie) Teal; five grandchildren, John Russell, Ryan Teal, Abby Teal, Cierra Teal, Jacob Teal; his great grandchildren, Chevy Teal, Aiden Strouse, Phoenyx Teal; and his sister Karen Teal.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his daughter Angela Teal; his son Jason Scott Teal; and his sister Rosetta Teal.
In keeping with Don’s wishes, there was be no calling hours. A celebration of life service was be held at the Grace Community Church on Hopewell Rd. on Sunday, October 1, 2023, beginning at 3PM.
