Herbert William Wood Jr. (82), of Zanesville, Ohio went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 21st, 2023.
Herb was born July 14, 1941, in Zanesville, Ohio. He retired from Midas Muffler in 2007, after 36 years of hard work and dedicated service.
He enjoyed tinkering and fixing most anything, especially vehicles; was a great cook, loved to bargain hunt and search for vintage treasures. Herb also enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and friends, sharing a daily gospel message and attending Cornerstone Full Gospel Church in Duncan Falls, Ohio, where he was a member.
Herb was predeceased by father, Herbert Wood Sr., mother, Faye Wood (Smith), Sister Charmaine Orndorff, and son Herbert "Butch" (Cecilia) Wood Ill.
Herb is survived by Sisters Shirley Kirkbride and Shelby (Ed) Roberts and Brother William "Bill" Wood.
He is also survived by his children Victoria Samson, Alan Wood, Venus (Lee) Samson, Regina (Andre ) Farris, Edward Vanoster, Aimee Musselman, Donna (Phil) Meyer, Sheila (Mike) Mills, Penny Haynes, Kathy (Brian) Boggs, Evelyn (Mike) Hunter and Jason (Tamara) Wood. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
Pastor Steve Harrop of Cornerstone Church was officiated a Celebration of Life in memory of Herb at Green Valley Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, Ohio on Monday, July 24, 2023, at 3pm.
