Barry D. Boyd, age 65, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 17, 1958, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, the son of Charles Edward and Marilyn (Myers) Boyd Sr. Barry worked for Kenyon College before his illness.
In his free time he enjoyed attending and racing at Pacemakers Dragway. He also liked to ride his motorcycles and spent many hours working on his slot cars and model cars. Barry was be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife Connie (King) Boyd; his son, Damion Boyd; siblings, Dennis Boyd, Clay (Susan) Boyd, Dariel (Rebecca Smith) Boyd, Dale (Jodi) Boyd, Dean Boyd, and Denise Boyd.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Casey Boyd; a brother, Charles Boyd Jr.; a sister, Darlene Smith; stepbrother and stepsister, Sonny Boyd, and Brenda Hermani.
Friends may call on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home, Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 where a funeral service was be held on Friday beginning at 11 a.m. Pastor Ruth Douglas was be officiating. A burial was followed in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
