Ed Durbin, age 66, of Danville passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at his home.
He was born on September 22, 1956, in Mount Vernon, Ohio to the late Arthur and May (Lyons) Durbin. Ed was employed as the Village Administrator for the Village of Danville for over 18.5 years. He was also employed at Pacs Power and Control Systems for over 15 years. He enjoyed playing his guitar, canoeing, tinkering on anything mechanical or carpentry. Ed was always doing something for his family or his friends, working, helping where he could, or just being a major support with all of his knowledge. But most of all, he loved the time he spent with his family, close friends, and his canine and feline companions.
He is survived by his wife, of over 20 years, Melony (Johnson) Durbin; his sons, Alexander Davis, Landen Clifton, Adam Schurdell; his daughters, Kerry (Eric) Haldeman, Kristina Blair, Misty (Gary) Rutter, Joanne Lockhart, Alanna Davis; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; his brothers, William (Mimi) Durbin, Danny Durbin, Michael Durbin, Joe Durbin, Ron (Jenny) Durbin; and his sisters, Carmen (Fred) Myers, Polly (Gary) Hanson, Kathy Kanuckel, Linda Colopy, and Jean Lahman.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his granddaughter Graylee Rutter; and his brother Dick Durbin.
In keeping with Ed’s wishes, there was be no calling hours. The family was observe a celebration of life service at a day and time to be announced.
