Obituaries: Linda Rose Garens | Roberts Funeral Home

Linda Rose Garens, 74, of Medina, died October 17, 2023 at Hospice of the Western Reserve, in Medina, Ohio.

Linda was born November 15, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio to Paul Sr. and Ruth {Maier} Simpson.

She graduated from Brunswick high school in 1966, she then received an Associates of Applied Science from the University of Akron in 2004.

She married James Garens on October 7, 1967, later she married Mark Garens on August 19, 1977.

She ran her own cleaning business for many years and was a youth care specialist at Beech Brook in Cleveland. Linda had been a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Congregation in Medina for many years before discovering her own personal spirituality. She delighted in spending time with her family, gardening, interior decorating, creating crafts, sewing, and was an avid reader. She enjoyed thrifting and antiquing throughout her entire life. Linda loved all animals but was never far from a cat, and raised and showed champion Himalayans as well as taking in many strays.

Linda was be deeply missed by her brother Charles Simpson; children James Garens, Rachel Garens, Rebekah (Nathan) O’Meara; grandchildren Marina, Desiree, Carrie, Toby, Chloe, Fallon, Luciana; great-granddaughter Kimberly and multitudes of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her infant daughter Melinda Garens; her brother Paul Jr., half-brothers Joseph and Bertram, half-sisters Pauline, Joan, Nancy and her ex- husband Mark.

Services was be Friday October 20, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. Burial was be at Mound Hill. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
