Blake Sipes went off for 242 yards rushing and four total touchdowns to lead the Frederickown (5-5, 4-3) Freddies to a 32-14 win over Centerburg (4-6, 3-4), which qualified them for the postseason.
Sipes had 32 carries for 242 yards and two scores, averaging 7.6 yards per carry. Sipes was 6-for-13 with two passing touchdowns, as well. Sipes now has 178 carries for 996 yards and seven scores. He is 64-for-123 for 932 yards, 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions on the season.
Trevor Bellman caught both touchdown passes and had 20 receiving yards. He has 13 catches, 117 yards and three touchdowns this season.
Elijah Roush also scored a rushing touchdown, and had 19 yards on 10 carries. He also caught three passes for 35 yards. Roush now has 105 carries for 395 yards.
Fredericktown’s defense was led by Lane Warner with 11 tackles and three for a loss. He also picked off a pass.He has been a force all season, tallying a team high 97.5 tackles, two fumble recoveries and an interception.
Bellman tallied seven tackles and an interception. Cirk Patrick had four tackles and a pick. Gavin Toombs had a tackle, half-sack, a caused fumble and a fumble recovery in the win.
Grant Hartley was 2-for-3 on extra points.
"It was a good win for this group of kids," said Coach Will Hartley. "A really good way to finish out the regular season. The defense played especially well creating 4 turnovers (3 Ints and and one fumble recovery).We are happy to be able to extend our season into the playoffs. Archbold (9 -1) is a traditional state power and it will be a big test to travel up there and take on such a quality team."
Next up is the Division V Region 18 playoffs, with the No. 14 Freddies traveling to No. 3 Archbold (9-1, 6-1) on Oct. 27 at 7 p.m.
