George Melvin Baker, 76, of Ashland, died August 5th at Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital.
George was born March 27, 1947 in Ashland, Ohio to Clarence Melvin and Luella (Helen) Ruth {Wilcox} Baker.
George served in the United States Army.
He married Lola Malone on June 5, 1993.
George worked for DHL and Budweiser in Mansfield. He attended Four Square Church in Lucas. George enjoyed collecting antiques, notably coins and trains. He attended car shows with his Buick and he loved watching Westerns.
George was be deeply missed by his sons George Jr and Brian Baker; step-children Starla (Mark Greggs), Marguerite (Richard) McCaslin and Danny Atterholt; grandchildren L. Ralynn Brown, Ciara Sweet, Phillip (Becca) Atterholt, Madison Atterholt, C. Brooke, Elizabeth, Connor and Katherine McCaslin and two other grandchildren; great-grandchildren Noah Martin, Trenton, Able,Lola-belle, Jaxon Sweet, Emily and Alex Atterholt; brother Larry (Deborah) Baker; sister Patricia; nieces and nephews Keith (Dawn) Baker, Kevin (Kara) Baker, Angie (Ben) Howell; great niece and nephews Tristin, Cameron, Brooklyn and Kasandra.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Baker, sister Shirley Lower of Florida and brothers John and Clarence Baker of Florida.
Friends may call Tuesday August 15, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland. Funeral services was followed at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with Chaplin Dallas Waggle officiating. Burial was followed at Ashland County Memorial Park, where military rites was be held.
