Charles William Adams, age 92, of Delaware, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 1, 2023,
at Bennington Glenn Care Facility.
He was born on June 18, 1931, in Cadiz, Ohio to the late J Bernie Adams and Mary (Freshwater) Adams
and moved to Delaware when he was 12 years old. He worked as the Delaware County Road
Superintendent for 32 years before retiring.
Charles was a man loved by many and was considered a social butterfly by friends and family. He was
happiest outdoors with his horses and competed in many plowing and logging competitions well into his
80’s. He was a force to be reckoned with at said competitions. Charles was also a member of several
horse clubs including the Central Ohio Wagoneers and The Draft Horse Association.
In addition to his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by his wife Evelyn (Keys) Adams; whom he was happily married to for 61 years, as well as his two sisters, and one brother.
He is survived by two sons, David (Karen) Adams of Ashley and Jeff (Debbie) Adams of Colorado,
daughter Rhonda (Rob) Penrod of Delaware, as well as nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering was be held at Kilbourne United Methodist Church, 5591 State Rte 521, Kilbourne, OH 43032 on Saturday, August 12th from 1 - 4 p. m. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center in Delaware.
