In Loving Memory of Kastytis Vilnius Irenijus Poderys

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of a remarkable man, Kastytis Vilnius Irenijus Poderys. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a pillar of strength for his family. Kas leaves behind a legacy of unwavering dedication, perseverance, and unconditional love, and the impact he made was forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born on April 19, 1937 in Lithuania, Kas grew up in challenging WWII and post-war circumstances. Despite the hardships he faced during his childhood, he never allowed his past to define him. Instead, he channeled those experiences into a deep determination to create a better life for himself and his loved ones. Throughout his life, he embodied the true essence of hard work and responsibility.
Kas shared an unbreakable bond with his beloved wife, Jan. Together they weathered the storms of life, supporting each other through thick and thin. Their love was an inspiration to all who witnessed it, and their partnership stood as a testament to the power of commitment and unity. Their shared faith in God helped define their lives on earth and the next chapter in heaven.
As a father, Kas poured his heart and soul into providing for his children, constantly striving to give them the tools they needed to succeed. He taught them the importance of honesty, integrity, and the value of hard work. His love and unwavering commitment shaped them into the individuals they are today, forever grateful for the immeasurable impact he had on their lives.
Kas possessed a warm and generous spirit. He was known for his humor, his ability to make a connection with anyone he met, and his willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need. He touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we bid farewell to Kas, we take solace knowing he is now with his wife Jan, and that his spirit was forever live on within our hearts. Though his physical presence may be gone, his love, guidance, and unwavering strength was continue to inspire us all.
In honoring his memory, let us strive to embody the qualities that Kas held dear. May we work hard, persevere through adversity, and above all, cherish the bonds of family.
Kas leaves behind his 6 children, Karen Kearns (Michael), Andy Poderys (Laura), Janelle Bloch (Igal), Eric Poderys (Jenny), Krista Conard (Craig), and Britt Heeter. His 16 grandchildren, Katie Kapteina, Brendan and Sarah Kearns; Sophia Walker (Abel), Joshua and Sebastian Poderys; Ariella Heller (Michael) and Madison Bloch (Jared); Sarah and Nate Fourman, Eric Poderys Jr.; Kara Hartline (Brian), Chase and Caleb Conard; and Riley and Reagan Heeter. His 6 great grandchildren, Ariel Kapteina; Elijah and Barrett Walker; Brayden, Brooklyn and Kameron Hartline.
Friends may call Friday, September 8, 2023 at DeVore Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury, Ohio from 4pm to 6:30pm. There was be a eulogy given and time for sharing at 6:30. A Mass of Christian Burial was be held Saturday, September 9 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Sunbury, Ohio at 11am followed by a procession to Blue Church Cemetery for burial. All are welcome to attend.
