Kimberly A. “Kim” Clay, age 63, of Edison, passed away Wednesday morning, August 30, 2023, at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.
On February 9, 1960, Kim was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio, a daughter of the late Lawrence Edward “Ed” Brown and the late Lynda Kay (Winslow) DePolo. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School in the Class of 1978.
For most of her career, Kim worked as a housekeeper, cleaning other people’s homes. She also did custodial work for Trinity United Methodist Church in Mount Gilead and at the Morrow County Hospital.
Kim enjoyed being outdoors and working in her flower beds. She liked scrapbooking and had a rather large collection of tumblers. Jewelry was a big part of her life. Many of her family and friends referred to her as “Diamond” and she sold Paparazzi jewelry online. Kim was a dog lover and at one point bred Schnauzer’s. She especially loved all of the Yorkie’s she had throughout her life. During football season, Kim cheered on the Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Kim will always be remembered for her bubbly, caring personality and her big heart.
Left to cherish Kim’s memory is her son, Tyler (Mandie) Clay of Edison; two grandchildren: Paislee and Linkin; two brothers: Dominic DePolo of Ashley, Matt Gardner of Galion; a niece, Andrea DePolo; two nephews: Tanner and Aden DePolo; her step-mother, Dixie Brown; and her former husband and father of her son, Richard “Rick” Clay.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Antonio DePolo.
Per Kim’s wishes, no services will be held at this time.
