Mary Ellen Derhammer-Johnson, 70, of Barberton, died Thursday September 7, 2023 at Akron City Hospital.
Mary was born January 19, 1953 in Wadsworth to Junior and Fern {Jessel} Derhammer.
She graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1971. Mary then attended Phillips College in Riverside, CA and Graduated in 1991 with an Associate’s degree.
She married William Johnson on October 31, 1987.
Mary worked for Savin/Gestetner Corporation; Tremco Corporation; Ceridian Corporation, Johnson Country Corner; Thermo-Rite Manufacturing and Star Fire Distribution; Buckingham, Doolittle and Burroughs; Western & Southern Insurance; and most recently worked as an Entrepreneur. Mary was a member of the American Business Woman’s Association of Summit County. She enjoyed playing with her cats, going on car rides around town, and travelling.
Mary was be deeply missed by her husband Bill; brothers Roger (Sandra) Derhammer, John (LouAnn) Derhammer; sister Cathy Derhammer; and family friend Phoebe Tenney.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call Tuesday September 19 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. Funeral services was followed at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev.
