Fredericktown (17-5, 11-1) played its final week of the regular season, finishing with a share of the Knox Morrow Athletic Conference (KMAC) volleyball title.

The Freddies took on conference rival Centerburg (18-4, 11-1) on Oct. 10 in a battle of two of the top teams in KMAC, and while Fredericktown went into the match unbeaten in KMAC play, the Trojans came ready to play and handed the Freddies a loss to secure a share of first place in the conference.

Centerburg beat Fredericktown in a sweep with set scores of 25-15, 25-23 and 25-16.

The Freddies followed up with a 3-1 win over Loudonville (13-9, 7-1). In the first set Ella Bouton gave Fredericktown a 4-0 lead on a block that landed for a point. The Redbirds battled back to a 7-7 tie, but Bouton landed a kill to go up by one. Jill Bouton then broke a 9-9 tie with a kill on a spike that landed just inside the back line.

The Freddies finished the regular season with a non-conference loss at home to a tough Shekinah Christian squad (18-3, 11-1), who are second in the Mid-Ohio Christian Conference. Fredericktown fell 25-19 in the first set, but then followed with a 25-19 set two win to tie things up. The Flames went on to win 25-21 and 25-20 in the final two sets.

Fredericktown is the fifth seed in the Division 3 Central 1- Sectional/District tournament, and the opening round takes place on Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. against No. 8 Columbus Tree of Life Christian at home.
