Bower throws five TDs for Northmor in 48-7 rout of Centerburg

Northmor (7-2, 5-1) has been on a tear lately and on Friday night they won their fourth straight game 48-7 over Centerburg (4-5, 3-3), with quarterback AJ Bower throwing for five touchdown passes.

AJ Bower started off the scoring with a 15-yard pass to Bo Landin, and a Caleb Schnuerer extra point put Northmor up 7-0. Bower hit Landin for another touchdown, this time from nine yards out to make it 14-0 with the extra point. Jax Wenger caught a 46-yard touchdown pass from Bower to make it 21-0 at the end of one quarter.

They went on to score 21 more points in the second quarter to make it 42-0 at halftime. Paul Cramer ran it in from one yard out for a score. Bower then connected with Cowin Becker for a 30-yard score to make it 35-0 with both extra points good. Landin caught his third touchdown pass of the day, with Bower hitting him from 20-yards out, and with the extra point it was 42-0 at the end of two quarters.

The Golden Knights made it 48-0 on a 22-yard rushing touchdown by Carson Campbell in the third quarter. Centerburg finally got on the board in the fourth quarter on a two-yard rushing touchdown by Blane Ball, with a Daniel LeMaster extra point.

Bower was 11-for-13 for 247 yards and five touchdown passes in the win. Campbell ran nine times for 46 yards and a touchdown. Cramer had five carries for 12 yards and a touchdown. Landin had three catches for 44 yards and three scores. Wenger also had three catches for 117 yards and a touchdown. Becker had three catches for 46 yards and a touchdown. Schnuerer was 6-for-7 on extra point attempts. On defense, Wenger and Hunter Fulk had interceptions for the Golden Knights.

Bower leads the KMAC in nearly every passing category, with 28 touchdowns and 1,819 yards. He is second in completion percentage at 61%. Wenger leads the league with 11 touchdown passes and 616 yards, while in the top three with 31 catches.

Jesse Rings was 8-for-12 for 49 yards and a pair of picks. He also ran the ball 15 times for 52 yards. Blaine Ball had four carries for 42 yards and one touchdown. Isaiah Sule had eight carries for 33 yards. Mason Turske caught three passes for 16 yards. On defense Austin Anderson and Tommy Hause each had four tackles.

Northmor faces Loudonville at home for their final game of the regular season with a 7 p.m. kickoff. The Trojans travel to Fredericktown on Oct. 20 for a 7 p.m. matchup.
