What to Watch

The Freddies are coming off a performance where they were shut out by a tough East Knox squad. Last week they had 160 yards on the ground, led by Blake Sipes who carried the ball 17 times for 73 yards, and Elijah Roush who had 56 yards rushing.

Sipes was 9-for-14 for 71 yards, but he threw a pair of picks. Look for Sipes to be a focal point of the Freddy offense again this week.

Defensively Lane Warner and Parker Cirk had 14 tackles and are the anchor of the defense. Devon Whitt was able to get to the quarterback for a sack last week and looks to put pressure on the Pirate signal caller this week. Cameron Koelbl is also a force on the line and one who could be a difference maker.

The Pirates have lost in blowout fashion in back-to-back weeks, with Loudonville beating them 49-0 last week. The team’s offense and defense need to stop up to topple Fredericktown.

Journey Williamson is under center and will be looking to get back to form. He has Kalin Briggs at receiver, who has shown he can find the end zone and make big plays. Greg Donaldson is also a viable option at the receiver position that he will be looking for.

Wyatt Denney is one of the team’s best defenders, and is also a focal point of the team’s running game. He is among the KMAC leaders in rushing yards, while averaging about five yards per carry.

On defense, also watch for Warren Garrison as he has the moves to be able to get in front of passes for deflections or pick one off.
