Witches Night Out

Details: This is a fun-packed evening planned for the ladies hosted by the downtown merchants and Experience Mount Vernon. Grab some of your ghoulfriends and check out all the wonderful places that will be open. We will have Grindhouse BBQ food truck, a selfie challenge, specials, and maybe a few other surprises. Don’t miss it!
To participate in the selfie challenge (and be entered into a prize basket drawing) shoppers will need to take a selfie in a participating business and tag the business and Experience Mount Vernon when they post it to social media.
Witches Night Out is an approved DORA (Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area) event from 5:00-9:00pm. Shoppers may purchase beer or wine from any approved Downtown Liquor License Holder and take it to go. $1.00 from each DORA purchase benefits the Knox Substance Abuse Action Team. A Forbidden Journey - Harry Potter Trivia Night

Details: Think you can pass your O.W.L.s? You might want to study up before exam time! The stakes are high as the team with the most "Outstandings" will win a cash prize! Butterbeer & your choice of one sweet from Almost Famous Sweets & Sodas shall be provided. HNCO / Hospice of Knox County and Mount Vernon Players are partnering to present a special two-week series of events, October 26-Nov 5, 2023. The collaboration will commence on October 26 with the He(Arts) for Hospice Art Gala featuring artwork donated by local artists. The artwork on display will be part of an online Art Auction where patrons can bid on their favorite pieces for the duration of the two weeks. The gala is FREE and open to all in the community. Complimentary hors 'doeurves will be served and a cash bar will be open. Local harpists, artists, players and HNCO staff will be present to greet guests and dressed in their finest Victorian dresses, suits, and hats. Early 20th century attire is encouraged for all visitors but not required.
Following the Art Gala and preview will be a production of The Canterville Ghost performed by the Mount Vernon Players. The Canterville Ghost is a play by Oscar Wilde and presented with permission by The Dramatic Publishing Company. It is a story of forgiveness, love, and a child who befriends a mischievous ghost trying to scare the family back to America. Tickets for the play on October 26 are limited and must be purchased in advance of the show.
