It was a monumental night for Loudonville (7-7, 5-1) senior setter Payton VanSickle, who notched her 2,000th assist despite the Redbirds taking a loss to the Northwestern Huskies (9-5, 5-4).
“This is a huge accomplishment,” said Coach Jackie Arnold following the match that took place on Saturday.
Loudonville took three straight set losses to the Huskies by scores of 25-21, 25-19 and 25-21.
VanSickle had a team high 19 assists, to go with seven digs, five kills and four aces. Maya Heffelfinger tallied 10 kills, one block and two digs. Olyvia Fenton had 17 digs and two assists. Sadie Kline added eight digs and Mikala Humphrey put up seven digs.
Loudonville looks to get back into the winning column on Tuesday Sept. 26 when the Redbirds take on Lucas at 7 p.m.
