Sophomore Audrey Stuller had 23 digs and Senior Tori Burdette had two aces, 28 assists, two blocks and 14 digs to lead Mount Vernon over the New Albany Eagles, three sets to one, on Saturday Sept. 16.
New Albany won the first set, 25-19, but the Yellow Jackets ralled to win three in a row-- 25-14, 25-22 and 25-21-- for the victory.
Junior Kaitlyn Thompson had nine kills and five digs, Senior Emma Dean had six kills, three blocks and thee digs, Senior Ady Beaver had 12 digs and three aces and Senior Jurnie Gleason had 11 kills and 11 digs, to lead Mount Vernon.
Led by head coach Lauren Townley, the Yellow Jackets are 11-3 overall and 6-2 in the Ohio Cardinal Conference.
The Eagles fell to 2-10 overall.
Mount Vernon has eight remaining regular season games before the state tournament.
