Screening of Award-Winning Film "Till"
Inspired by Keith Beauchamp's award-winning documentary The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till, the major motion picture Till tells the story of the brutal lynching of Emmett Till and his mother's vow to expose the racism behind the attack while working to have those involved brought to justice.
Assistant Professor of American Studies and History Frankie Gourrier ’08 will moderate a discussion with filmmaker and activist Keith Beauchamp at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 18, in Rosse Hall. A dessert reception will follow immediately in the Stroud Lobby of Storer Hall.

An Evening with Keith Beauchamp
Filmmaker and activist Keith Beauchamp will be on campus to screen his award-winning film "Till" and to share his insights in a moderated Q&A.
"Till" will be screened at 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 17, in Oden Auditorium. Conversation with Gerald L. Coleman
Assistant Professor of English Orchid Tierney will also moderate a conversation with Coleman on Sept. 22 from 11:10 a.m. to noon in Lentz House 204. If you are interested in attending the conversation, please fill in this form to express your interest, although it is not required to attend.
Coleman was born in Lexington and now makes his home in the Atlanta area. He did his undergraduate work in philosophy, English and religious studies, followed by a master's degree in theology. He is the author of the epic fantasy novel series "The Three Gifts," which currently includes "When Night Fall (Book One)," "A Plague of Shadows (Book Two)" and the upcoming "When Chaos Reigns (Book Three)."

Knox County Suicide Prevention
Knox County Suicide Prevention Coalition is holding its thirteenth annual 5k/10k walk and run on September 23. Parking will be available at the Tower and race day packet pickup as well as the start of the race will take place at the Kiwanis Pavilion. We will also be lighting the tower and having a memorial there to remember our loved ones at 7:30 P.M. Families and friends may bring a picture to share. The walk and run event is to help bring suicide awareness to our community, those who have lost a loved one, those who are still suffering, and those who want to remember them. Sign up here.

Join us for a free Doc Talk on Tuesday, October 24, from 5 to 6 p.m. Dr. Andrew McNicol will lead a conversation about the currently available treatment options to help manage pain.
This event is open to the community and will be held in the WFMP 2nd Floor Meeting Room. Healthy snacks and beverages will be provided.
In Pain Management, the goal is typically to control pain while also trying to address the underlying condition that is causing pain. Join our Doc Talk titled “Managing Your Pain: What’s New?” to discover how to overcome your pain.
Andrew McNicol, MD, is KCH’s Pain Management Physician. He graduated from Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), Rootstown, Ohio.
