Bonds celebrate 60 years of marriage

Harold "Bondy" and Marcia Bond, Jr. were united in marriage September 7, 1963 in Mount Vernon at the First Christian Church, Rev. Pumphrey officiated.
Lifelong residents of Mount Vernon, they are the parents of Michael Bond of Mount Vernon, Cherie (Matthew) Stinnett of Melbourne, Florida and Cathie Bond who passed away in 2004. They have two Step-Grandsons, Vincent and Nick Stinnett. 

Harold served a 6-year Obligation in the Army, Active and Reserve; retired as Department Head after 40 years of service at Continental Can; has been a member of the Colonial City Moose Lodge for over 60 years where he was awarded the Pilgrim Degree at Mooseheart, is a Life Member and has earned several prestigious awards such as Shining Star, Moose Legionnaire, Buckeye Award and many others from State, Local and International; served as Administrator for Colonial City, volunteering 16+ years. He has been an avid Cleveland Indians/Guardians Fan since he was 7 years old.

Marcia retired from the Mount Vernon City Schools after 25 years of service. She served as Secretary at West and Pleasant Street Elementary Schools and on the Staff at Central Office. She is also a Life Member of the Colonial City Chapter Women of the Moose, earning her Academy of Friendship, Star Recorder and College of Regents Degrees.
