Knox County chapter of the Ohio Horsemen's Council

In Danville, Ohio, at the Red Barn, Lisa Muncie heads up a volunteer organization, acronym PELIA (Positive Equine Leaning in Action), a unique program that works with at risk youth to provide opportunities to work with horses and develop skills for them to become successful members of society.

Youth often, through no fault of their own, find themselves in bad situations surrounded by drug or alcohol abuse. How better for the Ohio Horsemen’s Council (OHC) to stand by their motto of Horsemen Helping Horsemen than to link arms with PELIA and support a most worthwhile organization.

The Knox County chapter of the Ohio Horsemen’s Council recently did just that. After a majority volt, our Vice President Dava Bryant and member Laurel Wagner acquired and presented, at the Red Barn, eight new Safety Helmets and lead ropes to Lisa Muncie in time to support the Knox County Fair where the youth participated.

Many of these youth come from far distances a crossed Ohio. May we and others continue to support them!
