The Danville Police Department recently was recertified for state standards established by the Ohio Collaborative Community-Police Advisory Board, the Office of Criminal Justice Services announced Wednesday.
Three other Ohio law enforcement agencies were certified, and another 10 agencies achieved their recertification, according to a press release.
Recertification takes place on a revolving three- to four-year cycle.
Agencies that complete the certification process have adopted and implemented the initial two standards regarding the use of force and hiring and recruitment.
Recently certified agencies were: Columbus Grove Police Department, Greenwich Police Department and Salineville Police Department.
Agencies that, like Danville, were recently recertified included: Batavia Police Department, Deer Park Police Department, Hillsboro Police Department, Kelleys Island Police Department, Lucas County Sheriff’s Office, Macedonia Police Department, Northfield Village Police Department, Roseville Police Department, Russell Township Police Department, and Sylvania Township Police Department.
