A Mount Vernon man died in a two-vehicle crash in South Bloomfield Township in Morrow County on Wednesday morning that is under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Nathan Perrill, age 44, of Mount Vernon, was driving a 2015 Ford Focus westbound on State Route 229 at approximately 11:48 a.m. on June 14, the Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.
Nathan Clark, age 42, of Marengo, Ohio, was operating a 2002 International semi-tractor trailer turning westbound onto State Route 229 from County Road 204. Clark failed to yield from the posted stop sign and was struck by Perrill’s vehicle at the intersection of the two roads, according to the press release.
Perrill was pronounced deceased on scene my medical personnel.
Mr. Clark and his passenger, Dylan Young, 19, of Marengo, Ohio, were not injured.
Alcohol and/or drug use are not suspected factors in the crash, the press release reported.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Central Ohio Joint Fire District, EMA, the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, Morrow County Coroner’s Office and Morrow County ODOT.
